Disney World Tips List

  • Sign up for Disney Trip Remind 101. Text @ahswdw to 81010.

  • Have at least one pair of comfortable walking shoes that are already broken in.

  • Consider bringing a pair of flip-flops with you into the park. If it rains or your shoes get wet on a water ride, switch them out for your flip-flops.

  • You can get free ice water upon request from any of the counter service restaurants in the parks.

  • Bring ziploc bags to store your camera, phone, iPod or any other item you don’t want getting wet on a water ride.

  • Drink twice as much water as you think you need.
  • If you wear contact lenses, pack an extra pair.

  • Buy inexpensive, disposable ponchos from the dollar store rather than buying the marked-up ones sold at the parks.

  • Bring a power strip for extra outlets to charges phones, cameras, iPods, etc while in the hotel.

  • Take a photo of both the front and back of your ticket. If you lose your tickets, these photos provide the necessary information to have your ticket reissued.

  • Plan to bring snacks and water bottle into the park with you.

  • Students are responsible for purchasing one meal per day. Please visit www.allears.net for menus and pricing information.

  • Walt Disney World accepts all major credit cards.

Thursday, March 12th
12:00 p.m.                               Meet in student parking lot to load luggage and equipment.  (Staggered dismissal times  according to lunch periods)
1:00 p.m.                 Board buses and depart for travel to Orlando.
5:30 p.m.                 Dinner at VSU.
7:00 p.m.                 Board buses and depart for travel to Orlando.
11:30 p.m.                               Arrive at hotel. Check-in & lights out.
Friday, March 13th
6:45 a.m.                                 Wake up call by chaperones.
7:00 a.m.                                 Begin staggered breakfast times.
8:15 a.m.                                 Report to buses with instrument and equipment.
8:30 a.m.                 Buses depart for travel to EPCOT.
8:45 a.m.                 Arrive at EPCOT group parking. Enter park for the day.
10:15 a.m.                               CHORUS* ONLY - Meet at Norway rope drop.
10:30 a.m.                               CHORUS* ONLY - Disney Sings! Clinic.
12:30 p.m.                               BAND ONLY - Meet at buses.
1:30 p.m.                 BAND ONLY - You’re Instrumental! Clinic.
1:30 p.m.                                 ORCHESTRA ONLY - Chaperone Check-in (site TBA)
1:45 p.m.                                 CHORUS+ ONLY - Meet by the cart in Italy.

7:30 a.m.                 Board buses and travel to the Animal Kingdom.
8:00 a.m.                 Arrive at group parking for Animal Kingdom and                                                                                                                    enter the park.
1:00 p.m. Report to buses for travel to Hollywood Studios.
1:30 p.m.                                 Arrive at group parking for the Hollywood Studios and enter the park for the remainder of the day.
9:20 p.m.                                 Meet at the entrance to Fantasmic!
10:00 p.m.                               Fantasmic!
10:30 p.m                                Report to buses and depart for hotel.

Sunday, March 15th
6:30 a.m.                                 Wake up call by chaperones.
6:45 a.m.                                 Begin staggered breakfast times.
8:00 a.m.                                 Board buses and depart for Magic Kingdom.
8:15 a.m.                                 Arrive at Magic Kingdom group parking. Enter park for the day. Use the monorail or ferry boat for final travel to the Magic Kingdom.
2:00 p.m. Check-in with chaperones (Locations TBA)
9:00 p.m.                                 Disney’s Main Street Electrical Parade.
10:00 p.m.                               Park closes. Wishes firework show begins.
10:30 p.m.                               Report to buses at Magic Kingdom group parking. Board and depart for hotel
10:45 p.m.                               Arrive at hotel.

Monday, March 16th
6:45 a.m.                                 Wake up call by chaperones.
7:00 a.m. Begin staggered breakfast times.
8:15 a.m.                                 Report to room to gather belongings and complete packing.
8:30 a.m.                                 Report to buses with luggage, instrument, etc. Turn in room keys to chaperones.
8:45 a.m.                                 Board buses and depart for home.

6:30 p.m.                                 Arrive at AHS. Unload equipment and go home.

At this point....

Students and chaperones should have turned in their first two payments; the third payment is due October 10th.

Students should also be turning in their notarized medical forms, copies of insurance cards, and behavior contracts.  They can get blank copies from their director.

Our FIRST CHAPERONE meeting (only for adults that have signed up to be a chaperone) will be on Thursday, November 6th (stay tuned for a time!)

FIRST PAYMENT DUE FRIDAY!!!!

The first Disney payment of $119 is due THIS FRIDAY, August 15th.  Please make checks payable to AOBA if your student is in orchestra, ABBA if your student is in band, or ACBC if your student is in chorus.  You may also pay in cash, money order, or by credit/debit card at your child's ensemble booster website.

WDW Information Meeting

Our first informational meeting for our March 12-16 WDW trip will be August 12th at 6pm in the Orchestra room.  We will be discussing some details of the trip as well as taking initial payments (remember, the first deadline is August 15th!) with a signed Student Behavior Contract.  See you soon!
